ADRA House receives funding of 160,000 lei from Bucharest General City Hall
After evaluation, the General Directorate of Social Assistance of Bucharest (DGASMB – part of the General City Hall within the Bucharest General Council) agreed to finance ADRA Romania. This was done in order to support the emergency reception center for victims of domestic violence – Maison ADRA.
The non-renewable funding was granted from the local budget of the Municipality of Bucharest, part of which supports non-profit activities of local interest. The amount of 160,000 lei (US $ 37,952) was granted to ADRA house for a period of 4 months, from September 2021.
With this funding, ADRA Romania will provide funding to support the center and help its residents.
The process of requesting these funds began during the summer with the preparation and submission of the necessary documentation, and ended in September 2021 with the approval and signature of the contract in accordance with the provisions of the entity. adjudicator.

ADRA House is more than a center; it is a place where survivors of domestic violence come to a halt on their way to a peaceful life after some of them have endured years of feelings of humiliation, suffering and fear. In collaboration with the Bucharest City Council, through the Bucharest General Directorate of Social Assistance, we can offer these people a new start. “
Since 2009, ADRA Romania has managed the Emergency Reception Center for Victims of Domestic Violence – ADRA House. The objective of this project is the social reintegration of survivors of domestic violence through shelter, social counseling, psychological counseling, emergency medical care, food and advice to a lawyer. The lives of beneficiaries accommodated in the center are changed as they experience a different way of life – free from physical, verbal, economic, mental, sexual and religious violence, based on spiritual values, and cultivating healthy eating habits, exercise, training and recreation.
Currently, the amount invested by ADRA Romania for each resident of Casa ADRA is 2,500 lei (593 USD).
